uk-trade-investmentKARACHI: UK Trade and Investment, Pakistan introduced Edulearn Air Services Academy – a UK registered company that are bringing Air Service Training (AST), Perth, Scotland UK qualifications to Pakistan that will provide technical training material, approved examinations and assistance to support the aviation industry in Pakistan. 

Edulearn Air Services Academy will be setting up Pakistan’s first European Part 147 maintenance training facility in Karachi, Pakistan in collaboration with AST Perth Scotland. The aim of this facility is to provide UK licences to meet the growing demands of aircraft maintenance engineers / technician / pilots in local and international aviation industries. The local office will also provide a chance to bright and talented students who cannot afford expensive trainings abroad, to receive international qualifications in Pakistan. 

The academy will be introducing for the first time in Pakistan, the Aircraft Maintenance engineering IR Part -66 B1/B2 licence examinations in collaboration with Air Service Training (AST) Perth, Scotland, a company approved by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority under the European Part 147 regulations. Category B licences are aimed at line maintenance. They can also be used within base maintenance in inspections or supervisory roles. Category B licenses are separated into Mechanical and Avionics disciplines identified as B1 and B2 respectively. 

Ibrahim Saghir, CEO, Edulearn Air Services Academy (Pvt.) Ltd said: “We are really delighted to offer this worldwide recognised qualification in Pakistan. This qualification will help Pakistani youth to join aviation industry and to reach highest standards of academic and technical level, benefiting not just the industry but the overall education system in Pakistan. We thank the UK Trade and Investment team for helping us promote this qualification in Pakistan.” 

British Deputy High Commissioner and Director UK Trade and Investment, Pakistan, Francis Campbell said:  “The one key issue that has the potential to transform Pakistan’s future is education.  The UK Government is strongly committed in bringing that transformation in Pakistan. Introducing such UK qualifications in the aviation industry will not only contribute to the betterment of Pakistan’s future but strengthen the bilateral relation between the UK and Pakistan.”
