Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets early on Tuesday. May arabica coffee contract rose 0.45 cent at $1.3150 per lb at 11:02 am EDT (1502 GMT). Ranging from $1.3060 to $1.32. Arabica coffee futures inched higher in quiet dealings, buoyed by the weak dollar while many buyers sat on the sidelines ahead of the expectation for a large Brazilian crop, said brokers.
May raw sugar contract fell 0.26 cent to 19.13 cents per lb at 11:03 am. Trading range from 18.83 to 19.37 cents. Sugar sank from investor liquidation as it tried to take out seven-month low at 18.82 cents, but was stopped short of that level and staged a modest recovery on short-covering and trade buying in the market, said dealers.
May cocoa contract dropped $29 to $2,837 per tonne at 11:03 am. Dealing from $2,857 to $2,745, the lowest level for the second position since August 19, 2009. US cocoa futures followed the London market lower, where the March contract's expiry was the main focus, said traders.
