Following the approval accorded by Chief Minister Punjab, Health Department has transferred Professor Dr Musaddiq Ahmad Khan, Principal Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) and directed him to report to the department. Moreover, Professor Dr Muhammad Afzal Farooqi, Professor of Urology has been notified to look after the charge of Principal RMC till further orders.
A spokesman of Health Department said. He said that the reasons for this change are attributed primarily to gross negligence, rampant fraudulent practices in the RMC and Allied Hospitals as well as weaknesses in managerial practices and service delivery.
