The legal fraternity here on Tuesday observed "independence judiciary day" and hold bar meetings with pledge to be ready for scarifies for the rule of law and supremacy of the constitution in the country. The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) in its meeting held with its president Mian Abdul Qadus condemned the terrorist activities and called upon the government to take all possible measures for protection of the lives of the people.
The meeting was addressed by Raja Zulqarnain, Babar Murtaza, Malik Munif Awan, Shafqat Chohan, Ahmed Awais and others. The speakers said present independent judiciary is result of the struggle of lawyers, students, professors, doctors engineers, traders, political workers and civil society. They said world never saw such struggle and sacrifices for the independence of the judiciary. They said lawyers are with the judiciary and in future they would not allow any ruler or dictator to undermine the judiciary.
