Advisor to AJK government, Chaudhry Yasin on Thursday called for early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue entirely according to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir state, major party to the lingering global dispute.
Addressing a press conference here top PPP AJK stalwart said that global terrorism particularly in South Asian region has badly hurt the Kashmir cause especially the endeavours for the early peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict. He said that terrorism could be overcome through the early peaceful resolution of the long-standing global issues like Kashmir without further loss of time.
He said early peaceful solution of Kashmir problem is the need of hour for the establishment of everlasting peace in South Asia and for grant of the right of self-determination to the Jammu Kashmir people.
He said that Kashmiris were stick to their just and principled stand on the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue under the spirit of the United Nations resolutions which, he added, clearly spoke of the grant of right of self-determination to them through the exercise of their right to decide about their destiny through plebiscite.
Yasin said that a strong and stable Pakistan was the guarantee to the freedom of Kashmir. He said that under the dynamic leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the government of Pakistan was fully committed to get Kashmir question settled in line with wishes of Kashmiris. The Kashmiri leader categorically said that Kashmiris will not accept any option other than their legitimate right of self determination.
To a question, Chaudhry Yasin said that incumbent Premier Sardar Yaqoob-led coalition government of AJK will complete its remaining constitutional term. He said the coalition regime believes in the politics of understanding and harmony. He further said that the objectives, for which the change of government in AJK was made, were being achieved in the greater interest of the population.
Criticising the policies of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference (MC), Yasin said that it was the track record of the MC that it always came into power through back door. He said that there was complete harmony and understanding among all the component political parties of the incumbent coalition government in AJK including Muslim Conference Forward Bloc, Muslim Conference (Progressive Group), Pakistan Peoples Party AJK, MQM and PML to run the government in smooth manner under the leadership of Premier Sardar Yaqoob Khan.
