ISLAMABAD: Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Vice Chairman, Safder Hussain Mehkri said that Pakistan will enhance its rice export in the beginning of 2012 to meet the demand of traditional buyers.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that Pakistan's rice exporters are flexing their muscles to increase the exports quantum in the international markets as the shortage of commodity is expected to occur in the near future following flood hit Thailand.
He said that buyers are still fulfilling their needs from a large stock with Thailand but they will not able to continue their purchasing from biggest producer of rice (Thailand) after floods inundated rice crop there.
"Pakistan's rice exporters are seeing a significant increase in coming three to four months because presently no significant change assessed due to Thai floods," said Safder Hussain Mehkri.
