imageISLAMABAD: The Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali informed the Supreme Court that the Sharif family took loan on foreign currency accounts, during the resumed hearing by a SC five-member larger bench of the Panama Leaks case on Wednesday.

The Attorney General continues with his deliberation. At the close of the hearing on Tuesday, the court had asked the Attorney General to complete his deliberations today (Wednesday). Justice Asif Saeed Khosa also said that the court wants to complete the hearing of the case at the earliest and it would not accept any more documents though opportunity for rebuttal would be provided.

Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf continued his arguments in the court today. He said that he had taken a look at the records and concluded that the Sharif family took loan on foreign currency accounts.

To this, Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that the court had been told that investments had been made with the Qatar Prince, and no foreign currency account had been mentioned. He asked the Attorney General to assist the court and not become party to the case.

The Attorney General continued that the Hudaibiya Paper Mill case should be kept separate from the Panama Paper case.

To this, Justice Azmat Saeed said that if the Hudaibiya Paper Mill case was not based on facts, why was he trying to avoid it? He added that the NAB had proven to be a dead organization yesterday.

Justice Khosa in a remark yesterday said that the hearing of the case would most probably be completed by Thursday.

Chairman NAB Qamar-uz-Zaman and Chairman FBR Muhammad Irshad deposed and recorded their statements.
