After Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai became blockbusters, people were eagerly waiting for the third series of the franchise. Though the movie was announced much earlier but director Rajkumar Hirani didnt find any good script until now.
However, the director said the third part of the successful series will soon happen now.
Hirani told Mumbai Mirror that the film took so long to materialise because they could not zero in on a script. Even though he has as many as five half-written scripts, he said, "I could've taken any of them and released another film, knowing people would watch it. But I don't want to make a Munna Bhai which is not as good, if not better, than the previous two. I'm going to make just one more after which someone else can take the franchise forward and it has to be equally good."
Talking about Munna Bhai Chale Amrica, he said, "We started on it immediately after finishing Lage Raho Munna Bhai. We even shot a trailer. It was a funny script but the second half didn't work out. I will surely make one more Munna Bhai". The director added, "It's too early to say where it is going, but I had a great time working with Sanjay and Arshad earlier and I wanted to continue with them. The topic is such that it will suit an older Sanjay and Arshad. Physically Munna and Circuit might change a bit but they will continue to be my divine fools".
Currently, Rajkumar Hirani is busy shooting for Sanjay Dutt's biopic with Ranbir Kapoor. He will start shooting for Munna Bhai 3 as soon as the biopic wraps up.
Actor Arshad Warsi, who will reprise the much-loved character of Circuit in the third film said, "Rajkumar Hirani spoke to me. He gave an idea about the story and it is just superb. The story is very much relevant in today's time. The script is ready. You will soon see the same innocent idiots coming up with a social issue once again. They will make you see the world we want to see. The film will be very sweet and lovely," Indian media reported.
