Gas supply to Zafar Town, Landhi was restored to the affected residential consumers as a result of the prompt action taken by the SSGC maintenance teams. On September 12, at 11 PM, a complaint was lodged in SSGC's Customers Relations Department's (CRD) emergency helpline regarding fire at the gas pipeline located at Zafar Town, Landhi.
Responding immediately to the complaint, SSGC's maintenance teams rushed to the site within an hour to control the gas leakage/fire. To extinguish the fire, the gas pressure from the nearby Town Border Stations (TBS) were reduced as the maintenance teams dug out the pipeline and squeezed it completely to stop the gas and replaced the melted portion of the pipe.
Meanwhile, the CDGK fire tenders put out the fire and by 2.40 am, the gas supply to the affected area was completely restored. The concerned SSGC department investigated the reasons behind the fire and noted that the affected location was dug out by civic agencies as part of the development work.-PR
