Chris DiMarco will return to the United Arab Emirates capital in January to defend his Abu Dhabi golf championship title, organisers of the $2-million European Tour event said on Wednesday.
DiMarco, a member of the United States team for next week's Ryder Cup, will be joined by Spain's Sergio Garcia, who finished third in the inaugural event this year, and South Africa's Retief Goosen for the championship from January 18 to 21. Garcia said in a statement: "The Abu Dhabi golf championship boasts an impressive playing field and the course was just superb.
"The course amendments that are in place this year will certainly make it more challenging. I look forward to coming back again next year and giving Chris and Retief a run for their money."
