Punjab Minister Ghulam Mohyuddin said here on Wednesday that record development had been made in various national sectors by the present government under the dynamic leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf.
Talking to newsmen, he said the total development work executed since independence during the decades preceding this government, was less than that achieved during the last seven years.
He said uplift works, completed and under way in urban and rural areas across the province, had ensured a better life to the masses at the grassroots level, while local government system continued to resolve pressing issues at the local level to facilitate people at their doorsteps.
With prudent economic policies, national forex reserves had shot up to a record 13 billion dollars, so there was no dearth of funds for development, he added.
Chishti said dams were being built for sustainable agricultural and industrial growth, while defence of the motherland had been made impregnable.
