imageLONDON: The yield on 10-year British government bonds rose on Friday to its highest level since the days immediately after the country's vote to leave the European Union after a sharp fall in the value of sterling overnight.

The 10-year gilt yield touched 0.954 percent, its highest level since June 30 and last stood at 0.949 percent.

Investors sold long-dated British government debt heavily on Thursday, worried by a rise in inflation that is expected to follow the fall in the value of the pound.
