EU raises Czech wheat export tender to 275,911 tonnes

The European Union has raised the Czech export tender for wheat held in intervention storage to 275,911 tonnes, its Official Journal said on Friday.
The tender was opened on July 14 for 180,000 tonnes. The Czech Republic asked to raise the tender by 95,911 tonnes and the Commission granted the request.
"In view of the quantities available and the market situation, the request made by the Czech Republic should be granted," said the Official Journal.
The tender will end on June 22, 2006. Export licences would be valid for four months. Since the Czech Republic is a landlocked country, the EU will pay the lowest transport costs between the place of storage and shipment point from the EU up to a certain ceiling.
All non-EU countries are eligible as export destinations, except Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonian, Liechtenstein, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro and Switzerland.
