The former Foreign Minister Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali has said that ongoing Pak-India talks were symbolic, as no break through had so far been made on any issue through these dialogues.
While addressing a seminar on 'Democracy, Dictator and Foreign Policy' here Thursday, Sardar Asif maintained that Pakistan must establish good relations with other nations, but safeguard the national interests at all cost. He was of the view that implementation of the US agenda was not in country's interest.
He said that only Pakistan was waging war against terrorism, while other Muslim countries including Iran and Saudi Arabia were not indulged in this so-called war. He said that Pakistan was unnecessarily indulging in international politics.
He asked the government to take the public representatives into confidence on all the national and international issues adding that that dictatorship in the third world countries suited America, as she could easily enforce her agenda through one man.
He said that the government should have taken the nation as well as Arab countries including Palestine into confidence before establishing any official contact with Israel.
Chairman Executive Committee Pakistan Bar Council Hamid Khan also spoke.
