Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has achieved everything one could wish for in his glittering cricketing career. He has done it all from captaining his side to great victories to grabbing key wickets and hitting massive sixes against all adversaries.
However, one thing the great left-arm pacer regrets not achieving is not being able to get his name on Lord’s honours board despite displaying heroics across the globe.
In a recent interview at Lord’s cricket ground, the former Pakistan skipper said that he lamented not being able to claim a five-wicket haul at the famous ‘home of cricket’.
“The only regret that I have as a bowler is that even though I have 25 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket, not one came at Lord’s,” he said. “So my name is not on the honours board.”
The legendary bowler played four Tests against England at Lord’s, winning two and losing one, with one match drawn.
Most recently, England beat Pakistan by four wickets at Headingley on Thursday to go 4-0 up in a five-match one-day international series.
Pakistan will play England in a one-off T20i game in Manchester on Wednesday, September 7th. England has already won the five-match ODI series against Pakistan after earlier leveling the four match Test series 2-2.
