imageChairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has been relying on the last match of England Test series to square the series at The Oval. The hosts are 2-1 up with one to play in the series after digging out from a deficit to win the third Test by 141 at Edgbaston on Sunday.

“The best thing about our team is that it is in good spirit. Hopefully, they will perform well in Oval Test,” Shahryar Khan said while talking to media in Lahore.

Shahryar termed poor batting show and lack of one bowler responsible for defeat in the third Test. “We had four bowlers, while they had five bowlers which created the difference of runs otherwise Pakistan were going fantastic in the start,” he said.

He said some of our batsmen failed on fourth day which led to our defeat. The chairman PCB said winning and losing was part of game and Misbah-ul-Haq’s captaincy had nothing to do with it. Misbah did his job very well.

England are mulling about enjoying two spinners within the fourth Test towards Pakistan to be held on August 15 at The Oval via handing a house debut to leg-break bowler Adil Rashid. Rashid has been in and around the England squad all season, but yet to play on home soil after making all his three vocation Test appearances against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates a year ago.

However, Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur hopes his side's hard work on and off the field will be rewarded when they face England in the fourth Test at The Oval.

Pakistan will play the final Test against England at The Oval starting Thursday before leaving for Ireland, where they play two one-day internationals in Dublin on August 18 and 20. Whereas, the first match of the five-match ODI series against the hosts will be played on August 24.
