imagePakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah has reportedly suffered a worrying injury scare on Wednesday when he was knocked to the floor in the nets by one of his own bowlers.

Yasir, 30, was helped up from the floor by Wahab Riaz and attended by Pakistan’s team doctor before returning to the dressing room, holding his left arm, in clear discomfort. Team management insisted the bowler would be “okay” and was not a doubt for the second Test starting tomorrow, Express.co.uk reported.

But Pakistan will be hoping the injury does not stiffen up or further examination reveal damage to the bone.

Pakistan won the first Test at Lord's to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series, with Yasir Shah claiming ten wickets in the match. Yasir went to the top of the Test bowling rankings as a result of his haul at Lord's. It was the first time in Lord’s history, where two bowlers (England’s Chris Woakes and Pakistan’s Yasir Shah) finished the match with a 10-wicket haul.

Pacer James Anderson, leggie Adil Rashid and all-rounder Ben Stokes were called into the squad for the second Test.

However, England are going to bring back James Anderson and Ben Stokes into the mix and Pakistan will have to handle with a much stronger home side.

"Jimmy Anderson is a great bowler and he'll be a treat in any side," Pakistan fielding coach Steve Rixon said. “He and Stokes are very fine cricketers. They will add to the England attack and overall composition of the side. We are expecting as hard a game as we'll get in the series right here”.

The second Test of the four-match series will commence from Friday, Jul 22, at Old Trafford, Manchester.
