imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday directed to forward samples of fertilizer to Karachi University, Research Institute Peshawar and Lahore Laboratory for examination and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.

The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan heard the case.

During the course of proceedings, the counsel for the private fertilizer company told the court that the government awarded subsidy to its favorite fertilizer companies.

He alleged the process for awarding subsidy was not transparent.

The representative of National Food Security told the court that the government had issued Rs 14 billion for subsidy of fertilizer.

The court directed to issue subsidy to the private fertilizer company and adjourned hearing of the case.
