Unicef and UNDP/Small Grants Programme (SGP) plan to work jointly with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and local governments on water, environment and sanitation programme.
The project would aim at community mobilisation for reducing water contamination through rational use of chemicals and reduce mitigation to remove arsenic from water supply in selected schools in Punjab and Sindh provinces.
The joint programme aims to demonstrate provision of sustainable safe water supply and sanitation models to help contribute to the reduction of mortality and morbidity among women and children in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals.
