Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) will establish an artisan city in Karachi as per directive of provincial minister for Industries & Commerce Muhammad Adil Siddiqui.
The managing director of the Corporation has prepared a plan of action for this city to be set up on 500 acres of land near Hawksbay, said a handout issued here on Tuesday.
Thousands of artisans from all over Sindh will be accommodated in the city. Traditional handicrafts of the province are very popular in and outside Pakistan.
Adil Siddiqui said: "We should reorganise this sector on solidgrounds to provide self-employment opportunities to the artisans".
