All Parties Kashmir Committee in the European Parliament will organise an intra-Kashmir dialogue in Brussels in April, said the Opposition leader in AJK Legislative Assembly, Barrister Sultan Mahmood, here on Friday.
Barrister Sultans who returned from Brussels here late Thursday after meeting with EU parliamentarians, told newsman that the purpose of this dialogue was to invite the Kashmiri leaders from both sides of the Line of Control to discuss their political future.
During his stay in Brussels, he along with Barrister Majid Trambo, met with the Chairman of the All Parties Committee, James Eliaf and other members of European Parliament to apprise them of the latest situation in occupied Kashmir.
He told them that despite thaw between Pakistan and India, no relief had been given by India to the people in held Kashmir.
The human rights abuses continue, the black laws authorising Indian Security Forces to arrest and search their homes without warrant continue to make the life of people miserable there.
Barrister urged the EU to use its influence for stopping human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir and press New Delhi to withdraw its troops, release the Kashmiri politicians and allow APHC leaders to travel abroad.
The AJK Opposition leader said that James Eliaf told him that All Parties Kashmir Committee in the EU would soon move another resolution on Kashmir to elicit the support of the EU parliament.
Eliaf also informed him that an EU delegation was scheduled to visit the Indian occupied Kashmir in early May to see for itself the prevalent situation there.
Barrister Sultan urged him to put the weight of the EU Parliament behind efforts of the international community to help resolve the long-standing issue of Kashmir.
Later, Sultan Mahmood addressed the overseas Kashmiris at the Kashmir Center Brussels and hoped the current composite dialogue between Pakistan and India would pave the way for the final settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Barrister Abdul Majid Trambo, Chairman of the Centre vowed Kashmiris would not rest until they get the right to self-determination under the UN resolutions.
Trambo said, he would continue his efforts to mobilise the EU parliament to seek its help for promoting a peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue.
