ISLAMABAD: Former Twenty20 Skipper Muhammad Hafeez believes having educational degrees are important but sees cricket as a complete education for a human being.
Hafeez's nicknamed `Professor' comments came after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan's remarks, while addressing the media in Quetta, regarding lack of educated players in the national team being a cause for cricket's downfall.
He said there are no graduate players in the team right now except Twenty20 skipper Misbah ul Haq and the absence of educated players in the team is a primary reason for its recent downfall.
In a Question and Answer session on a social networking website `Twitter' the Professor said education is an important part of life but having degrees is not enough.
"I am proud to be Test cricketer, he wrote in my degree, he further wrote ,"Cricket is a complete education of a human being I believe."
The 35-year-old is not attending the on-going camp in Kakul since he is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee problem at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Hafeez is also unlikely to be included in the upcoming national team's tour to England due to injury.
