imageFAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has declared Nawab Block of Edan Garden as an illegal housing scheme and appealed to the general public not to purchase plots in the illegal residential colony.

A spokesman of the FDA told here on Sunday that under Local Government Ordinance-2001 and Development of Citizens Act 1976, all the housing scheme developers were bound to seek permission from the FDA before developing any residential scheme, but the Nawab Block of Edan Garden residential scheme situated at Daewoo Road Faisalabad was developed without fulfilling code requirements.

Taking notice of such irregularities, the FDA declared Nawab Block of Edan Garden residential scheme as illegal and wrote a letter to the District Collector for not registering sale and purchase of its plots.

The FDA also moved letters to Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Manager Planning and Designing Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and General Manager Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) for stoppage of issuing water supply, sewerage, electricity and gas connections in the housing scheme.

The FDA has also directed the developers of the Nawab Block of Edan Garden housing scheme to complete all code requirements before the sale of any plot in the housing scheme.

Otherwise, strict action would be taken against them without any discrimination, spokesman added.
