There have been serious questions marks over whether Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt would be allowed entry in the UK following their involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shehryar Khan expressed that there were certain hurdles in obtaining visas for the tainted trio of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.
The trio was involved the spot fixing scandal in Pakistan’s tour to England in 2010, Amir and Asif bowled no-balls intentionally. The trio may face some hurdles in getting a UK visa due to the strict law.
According to local media report, Shahryar Khan was specifically asked by the media about the visa of Amir, Asif and Butt, he replied, “We understand that there is resistance from England, Australia and New Zealand on allowing these three players to feature in tours to these countries. They are ready to forgive Amir but not the other two.”
He has said that UK authorities have expressed willing to issue visa to Muhammad Amir, but have reservations over Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif. If they are selected then further efforts will be made to secure visas for them.
However, Mohammad Amir has made his international comeback and has toured to New Zealand, Bangladesh and India with the team, but, still, he may face trouble in getting a visa for England.
