LAHORE: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said on Monday that Orange Line Metro Train project (OLMT) would ensure provision of safe, fast, respectable and comfortable transport facility to the masses.
Addressing a seminar regarding the OLMT project here at Samanabad,
the NA Speaker said that orange line train project was being executed purely for provision of best travelling facility to the citizens of Punjab metropolitan city.
The OLMT, he added, was the low-cost and effective project in the history of Pakistan that would benefit directly to the people only.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that provincial government and its related departments had resolved the complaints and problems of the people affected/dislocated due to the mega public service project.
In this regard, he said, he had also talked to Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahad Cheema.
The project was being monitored on permanent basis and even the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also looking after the project personally for its early completion so as to provide relief in terms of transport at the earliest to the people, he maintained.
NA Speaker said that completion of the orange line metro train project would definitely ensure a best transport facility to Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore, who would reach their respective destinations easily through fast and safe means of transport.
On this occasion, the strong candidate for Lord Mayor of Lahore Khawaja Ahmed Hassan also addressed the seminar and highlighted the benefits of the public-oriented project of the OLMT.
He said that besides maintaining standard and transparency, timely completion of development projects including the Orange Line Metro Train was the policy of the government, adding that the people were benefiting largely from mega development projects completed by the PML-N government.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train was the project of the common man, adding that 250,000 people would travel by the metro train initially, while the number of passengers would gradually increase to 500,000 daily.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train project would bring a revolution in public transport system in Pakistan.
MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir also addressed the seminar, while local PML-N leaders Akhtar Rasool, Hafiz Nouman, Mian Tariq and a large number of workers of Pakistan Muslim League-N were also present.
