imageVespa, one of the world’s most recognizable scoter celebrated its 70th birthday days ago. Let us celebrate the classic two-wheeler from Italy, which remind us of ‘dolce vita,’ with some pf the most popular designs of Vespa produced.

Vespa 98

imageAccording to MotorCyclesSpecs.co, Vespa 98, introduced in 1946 was the first Vespa. Backed with a 98 cc engine that delivered 3.2 bhp at 4,500 rpm, it came with a a top speed of 60 km/h. the vehicle remained in production for two years i.e.1946-1947 and overall 18,079 units were produced.

Vespa 150 GS

imageThe Vespa 150 GS, launched in 1955, by many experts this is "the most popular, imitated and remembered model". As it added a lot of features such as, 150 cc engine, 4-speed gearbox, standard long saddle, "faired" handlebar-headlamp unit, wheels with 10" tyres and a top speed of 100 km/h.

Vespa ET4

imageThe Vespa ET4 125cc, hit the road in 1996 stamping as the "new generation Vespa" launched on the 50th anniversary. It was a completely new project, becoming the first Vespa ever powered by a 4-stroke engine. The Vespa ET is equipped with a front disk brake and an automatic CVT gearbox.

Vespa GTS 250 IE

imageAs per News18, launched in 2005 was an homage to the Vespa GS (Gran Sport), fifty years after the launch of the first sport scooter in history and it remained a sought after treasure for collectors and fans, the Vespa GTS 250 IE simply renewed the GS.

Vespa 946 Armani

imageThe Scooter was introduced on the roads in 2015, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Giorgio Armani foundation and the 130th birthday of Piaggio Group. The Emporio Armani designed a special version of the Vespa 946. The words 'Emporio Armani' appear on the side, including the iconic eagle logo of the brand which sits above the headlight.
