imageLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Thursday directed security departments to strengthen security arrangements in Punjab for protection of life and property of the masses.

He said this while presiding over a meeting here which reviewed in detail the overall law and order situation in the province.

The meeting strongly condemned the incident of terrorism at Bacha Khan University Charsadda and also offered fateha for the martyrs.

The participants of the meeting prayed for the early recovery of the injured persons.

The Chief Minister said the Punjab government and people of the province fully sympathized with the bereaved families of martyrs.

He said Punjab was standing by KPK government and people in this hour of grief.

He said all possible steps should be taken for maintaining an atmosphere of law & order in the province.

He directed that the security plan evolved for educational institutions should be strictly implemented and law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert.

He said that concerned institutions will have to perform their duties efficiently for foiling the nefarious designs of the enemies.

The Chief Minister directed that the security of mosques, imambargahs and other worship places should be further tightened.

Provincial Minister for Law, Member Provincial Assembly Jehangir Khanzada, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and senior officials of law enforcement agencies were also present.
