People magazine tells what we’ve all known for years. Legend footballer David Beckham has been named "Sexiest Man Alive".
The announcement was made Tuesday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" along with the unveiling of the magazine's cover heralding the honor.
David Beckham is an English former professional footballer and the first one to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He is a model, loving husband and down-to-earth father of four, and now, the humble British heartthrob is this year's Sexiest Man Alive.
Beckham told people, "It's a huge honor”. "And I'm very pleased to accept."
"I never feel that I'm an attractive, sexy person. I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don't ever think of myself that way," he added.
When the devoted husband shared the news with his loving wife, fashion tycoon Victoria Beckham was totally on-board.
"I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!" he says with a shy smile. "But she said, 'Congratulations!' ", people reported.
