Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has been known for bold and often controversial statements on Pakistan and its current political situation. Hamza Ali Abbasi recently criticized two songs from his own movie ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’, and has also claimed that he is not being paid for the movie.
After the film’s trailer had been released, the actor said that he would not promote ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’ due to the fact that it contained two songs which were very inappropriate and show indecent visuals.
The actor posted on his Facebook, “Let me clarify, the reason for which I did this film was not money. I am not being paid for this film. I am not being paid a single penny for this. I did this film only for the sake of my friendship with Humayun Saeed (Humayun isn’t just playing one of the main characters in the film, he has also produced it)”.
“A month before the shoot started, I did tell Humayun I didn’t want to do it. But then, due to certain reasons, my personal reasons, I had to be a part of it. The entire film is a family entertainer. My objection is just to one sequence in one song which is barely a minute-long,” he added.
Actor/Producer Humayun Saeed refuted Hamza’s claims of not getting paid for the movie and stated that the actor will receive remuneration. As per media reports, he said, “He hasn’t asked me for the money, yes that’s true. But he is being paid. I don’t know if he has already received payment because I haven’t checked with the accounts department but he will be paid the amount stated on the contract he signed”.
Upcoming Pakistani movie ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’ which also stars Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Vasay Chaudhry, Ayesha Khan and Ahmed Ali Butt.
