ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change, Senator Mushahidullah Khan on Sunday left for the United States of America to attend the 11th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF).
The Federal Minister will also address the ministerial meeting during the conference.
The two-day event will begin on May 13 in New York, according to press release issued here on Monday.
`UNFF is a subsidiary body with the main objective to promote " the sustainable management and conservation of all types of forests and to strengthen long-term political commitment in this regard.
The aim this conference is to review the progress made towards arrangements made for forests protections.
The stakeholders would present their view that how they can collaborate at international level for preservation of forests in their country.
The participants will review the effectiveness of international agreements in achieving their goals.
UNFF was established in October 2000 under a resolution of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
The Forum has universal membership and is composed of all member states of the United Nations.
