 MILAN: Italian stocks moved back into positive territory on Wednesday afternoon after investors regained confidence following a Franco-German proposal on a financial transaction tax that spooked markets.

The FTSE Mib was up 0.35 percent at 15,805 points in afternoon trading, after having been down one percent at the open.
