KASUR: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Friday visited the home of two children who died in aerial firing during a marriage ceremony a few days back nearby village Gutti Kalanjar, Ganda Singhwala.
He remained sometime with the family of deceased boys Waseem and Shamshad and expressed his condolence with the family. He also offered fateha for the departed souls.
On this occasion, the chief minister said firing in marriage ceremonies would not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against responsible ones.
He ordered to suspend immediately DSP and SHO concerned. He said police officers had to realize their responsibility and it was their responsibility to take action against responsible people.
He directed police officers to submit a challan of the case immediately and to avoid such incident in future the implementation of law in this regard be ensured.
The chief minister presented cheques Rs. 500,000 each to the heirs of the boys.
Later, the chief minister also visited the residence of MNA Malik Rashid Ahmad at Fatehpur and condoled the death of his brother. He also offered fateha for the deceased.
