imageSmart Phones have become our constant companion; the clever device that has the whole world in it is not beneficial in terms of mental health. A study has shown that people who have strong cognitive skills spend less time on their devices than those with less brain power.

A study by the University of Waterloo study says that the convenience at our fingertips is making it easy for us to avoid thinking for ourselves. In other words, the smartness of the phone is making us dumb. Researchers tested 660 people, measuring their cognitive style and smart phones habits. They found that people who generally go with their instincts when making decisions are more likely to rely on their phones’ search engines than their own brain power, foreign media reported.

Googling information that we don’t know end the curiosity level within and that will only get worse in the future. Too much information about something is also hazardous for health.

Other than mental health, it’s also affecting personal lives and happiness. A research shows that it’s shocking that people spend the first hours of their day on their phone rather than with their loved ones. That (people) are missing breakfast as a result of this technology takeover.

So how can we fight back against the technology freefall? The obvious solution is to unplug it and take a ‘break’ from this fast technological world.
