russian-stock-marketMOSCOW: Russian stocks tumbled in opening trade as the market was hit by worries about a new global economic crisis triggered by the downgrade to the US credit rating and European debt concerns.

At around 0635 GMT, the RTS index was down 3.30 percent at 1,739.34 points while the MICEX index fell 2.68 percent to 1,544.50 points.
