imageISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Raja Zafarul Haq Friday said late Saudi King Shah Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz had rendered great services for the Ummah and he would long be remembered for untiring efforts of unity among Muslims across the world.

Talking to PTV, he said the deceased worked for welfare of the Muslims throughout his life and raised voice against suppression and injustice meted out to them in any part of the world.

Raja, who is also Leader of the House in Senate, said Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz always stood by the innocent Muslims of different countries including Palestine, Burma and Southern areas of Thailand, and supported them financially, politically and diplomatically in a dignified manner.

Recounting the services, Raja said the late ruler had set up a King Abdullah Center for Interfaith Harmony to promote peace and unity among all religions and faiths across the world.

In Palestine, he said, Israelis had deprived the Muslims of their 'right of return' in Jerusalem, if once they left the area due to one reason or the other.

The King played an active role and mitigate their sufferings, offering the Muslims to sale their land to the Board, set up for the purpose by Saudi Arabia, if it was unavoidable in certain conditions. "The board is working efficiently and continuing to serve Muslim till to-date," he added.
