imageIndian renowned director/producer Mahesh Bhatt is all set to produce a theatre play ‘Milne Do’ which will collaborate artists from both the nations to work together in a single play. It is aimed to promote the message of love and peace between two nations.

According to media reports, the proposed lead, Indian actor Imran Zahid, will be travelling to Pakistan on December 14 and rumour has it that he would act opposite to Pakistani actor Mehwish Hayat.

Imran Zahid said, “I’m leaving for Lahore, Pakistan, on December 14 on a four-day trip along with director Danish Iqbal. We will be finalising the script, cast and rehearsal schedule with Malik Aslam of famed Pakistani theatre group, ‘Azad’ who will be co-directing the play.”

Pakistani band ‘Laal’ has been finalized to perform at the end of the play along with an Indian band ‘Euphoria’, who are yet to confirm the deal.

Bhatt is excited and hopeful for his next project which has been aimed to bridge gap between two nations. He said, “I have a firm belief that India and Pakistan can bridge the distances through this cultural space. When I began my crusade for stitching these gaps through movies, there were people laughing and saying it was an impossible dream. But the truth is that Indian movies are now being shown in Pakistan, and Pakistani soaps are being shown in India. While television and cinema have a mass audience, theatre could also be one of the mediums to make slow inroads into the consciousness of the people,” media reported.

Pakistani government is playing a big role to make this dream project possible. Pakistani high commission has issued visas to Indian actor on an urgent basis to participate in this venture.

The theatre play is expected to be perform in March 2015.
