'Country's prosperity depends on tax collection'

SARGODHA: Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Sargodha, Sheharyar Akram Awan said the prosperity of the country depends on widening the tax base.

Talking to journalists, he said that on the directions of federal government the date for submitting tax statements has been extended till December 5,added that eight sub-offices have also been set up to facilitate tax payers.

He said that one window facility was being provided at these sub-centers where general public, traders and industrialists can avail this facility.

The Deputy Commissioner said that people with upto Rs 0.5 million annual income can send their tax statements online, adding that there was no tax on upto Rs 0.4 million annual income.
