‘The Conjuring’ released last year was a break-through hit directed by James Wan. Reportedly, the director has joined hands with Warner Bros to make another hit ‘Conjuring 2’.
Recently, ‘Annabelle’, a prequel of famous horror flick has been receiving massive response from the audience and still making profits even after two weeks of its release.
According to foreign media reports, Director James Wan has just signed a new deal with Warner Bros. subsidiary New Line that will see him return to the director’s chair for the highly anticipated sequel of ‘The Conjuring’. Wan has just finished directing ‘Fast & Furious 7’ which is set to be released April 3, 2015. The director will now require time to promote the film as the release date nears. So the filming of ‘Conjuring 2’ is expected to start from next summer.
Wan has kept a relatively low profile for a filmmaker whose resume is stocked with low-budget films that became massive global hits. That began with directing ‘Saw’ and producing six sequels that have collectively grossed around $871 million worldwide. He also plays an active part as a director in ‘Insidious’ series.
Further details about the storyline of the coming sequel and its cast are yet to be decided. The movie will hit theatres somewhere in 2016.
