GUJRANWALA: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the government was making efforts to provide all possible facilities to flood-stricken people.
Addressing a gathering during his visit to flood-hit areas of Wazirabad, he said, he had directed the officials concerned to continue their activities for facilitating the flood victims till their rehabilitation.
He also reviewed relief and rescue activities and asked the officials concerned to further accelerate the pace of relief work.
Expressing shock and grief over the people woes caused by devastating rains and flood, he said the government was committed to address their problems by using all available resources and vowed that compensation would provided to those who had suffered losses.
On the occasion, he also gave cheque for Rs 1.6 million to the heirs of a child who was killed in a house collapse incident.
The chief minister also announced that the government would also provide compensation for rebuilding of houses destroyed in flood.
