ISLAMABAD: Legendary batsman Javed Miandad feels the inconsistent performance of the green-shirts led to loss in the Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Pakistan lost the Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka last month. Talking to APP, the 124-Test veteran said Pakistan side always lacked consistency and it is the only thing if improved can tackle any team.
Miandad said a cricket committee should be revived comprising former cricketers as it was in the previous chairman Zaka Ashraf's tenure for the betterment of cricket. "I use to head the committee and it proved beneficial," he said adding he can fix Pakistan cricket in six months.
Former skipper Shoaib Malik feels it is time for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selectors to find the best playing XI for the next year's World Cup and stick to them.
Malik said if we are not sure about our playing XI we stand nowhere and to expect much from the Pakistan team in the World Cup won't be good. "We should play the playing XI for the next year's World Cup consistently despite of their performance," he said.
Malik said Shahid Afridi is the best man to lead Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup.
"Afridi is an aggressive captain and knows how to lead the team," he said.
Malik said it is Afridi's last World Cup, so he will work hard to win it. "Misbah is defensive in his approach. Misbah has to think out of the box and play with a positive mindset," he said adding for the World Cup, we need at least 2-3 batsmen and 2-3 bowlers to remain consistent throughout the event.
