According to IBTimes Alia Bhatt’s latest release ‘2 States’ has earned more than 50 crores domestically, in its first five days of release.
Renowned Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Ardarsh tweeted: “Friday ?12.42 crore, Saturday ?12.13 crore, Sunday ?13.51 crore and Monday ?6.17 crore..”
The romantic-comedy, which was released in over 2000 screens across India, is expected to surpass the 60 crores mark by the end of the week, beating first week collections of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Queen’ and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Main Tera Hero’.
The flick, featuring Arjun Kapoor as the leading male, also got the third biggest opening weekend of the year after Salman Khan’s ‘Jai ho’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Gunday’.
Co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is based on Chetan Bhagat's bestseller novel of the same name.
