imagePESHAWAR: The Met Office Friday predicted rain-thunderstorm at scattered places in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Kashmir, Upper Punjab and Islamabad during next 24 hours.

According to Met Office, a westerly wave lies over upper and central parts of the country and is likely to prevail during next 24 hours. This westerly wave is expected to move over northeast ward thereafter.

As result of this Weatherly system, rain-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, KP, Islamabad, upper Punjab?s Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions, while at isolated places in South Punjab?s Multan, D.G KHan, Bahawalpur divisions, northeast Balochistan?s Quetta, Zhob, Kalat divisions and upper Sindh's Sukkur, Larkana divisions during next 24 hours.

The weather of Abbottabad, Bannu, DI Khan, Peshawar, Kohat and Parachinar will remain partly cloudy with chances of rain-thunderstorm.

In next 48 hours, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, rain-thunderstorm is likely to lash Kashmir, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hazara divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan in isolated places.

Rain-thunderstorm occurred in KP, Islamabad, Punjab, Quetta, Sukkar, Larkana divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in last 24 hours. The weather of Dir Lower district, Malam Jaba and Saidu Sharif turned pleasant after receiving 69 millimeter, 36mm and 14 mm rain respectively.

Furthermore, Noorpur Thal received maximum 24mm rain followed by D.G Khan, Gujranwala 16mm, Saidu Sharif, Bannu, Joharabad 14mm, D.I Khan 12mm, Muzaffarabad, Sh. Benazirabad 11mm and Balakot, Chakwal, Jhang 09 respectively.

The agriculture experts termed the present rainfall extremely beneficial for wheat crops in upper parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Maximum temperature was recorded in Dadu 41 C and Sibbi, Turbat, Moenjodaro, Chhor 40 C whereas pollen count today remained as 688 per m3 of air.
