imageISLAMABAD: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to rope in the legendary former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram as a bowling consult for their team saying they would love to have Wasim working with them.

The BCB Media Committee Chairman, Jalal Yunus said the initial contact with Wasim has been made, however they are now looking forward of reply from the legendry fast bowler.

"Chairman of the cricket operations committee, Akram Khan has informed BCB about his interaction with Wasim Akram, on the matter, during the recently concluded World T20 Cup," said BCB media committee chairman, Jalal Yunus, while talking to a private news channel.

He said the head of the Cricket Operation Committee is basically the in-charge of the cricket affairs at the Bangladesh Cricket Board. "The development has not taken an official shape as yet, but BCB would love to have Wasim Akram in the fold," said Jalal Yunus.

"We are anticipating a response from Wasim soon, after which a formal meeting would be held," he said.

Wasim, regarded as one of the greatest left-arm fast bowlers, has joined the Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders as bowling consultant.

"Due to his busy schedule, a long-term contract doesn't seem possible, however even a short stint before the India series would be extremely handy for Bangladesh bowlers," Jalal said.

India are scheduled to tour Bangladesh in June, while the Bangladesh team would tour the West Indies in August this year.
