imageRAWALPINDI: Member National Assembly (MNA), Hamza Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said the federal government was making unrelenting efforts and exploring all workable options to achieve lasting peace in the country amicably.

Presently, he said, the government's negotiating team was holding dialogue with around 50 to 60 groups of Taliban for peace and tranquility in the country.

"There is need of giving some time to the ongoing dialogue process for achieving the required results," he said while talking to reporters here at Holy Family Hospital (HFH) where he visited to inquire after health of the Sabzi Mandi blast injured.

Lauding valuable services of Pakistan army and security forces in tackling the menace of terrorism and safeguarding the country's frontiers, he paid tribute to martyrs and said their sacrifices would not go waste.

There is great respect for our brave armed forces, who always rendered sacrifices in line with the duty of protecting the country borders, he added.

Earlier, Hamza Shabaz interacted with the blast injured being treated at the hospital and prayed for their early recovery.

He distributed Rs 75,000 cheque each among three injured and directed the hospital administration to provide all possible medical facilities and treatment to them.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Umer Hayat Lalika, parliamentarians Najma Hameed, Tahira Aurangzeb, Malik Abrar, Zaib-un-Nisa, Tehsin Fawad, Raja Muhammad Hanif and local leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) including Shirjeel Mir, Dr Jamal Nasir, Sardar Nasim and Maqbool Ahmed Khan were present on the occasion.
