imageISLAMABAD: Engineering goods exports from the country during first eight months of current financial year increased by 22.95 percent as compared to the same period of last financial year.

From July-February, 2013-14 engineering goods worth US$ 207.016 million exported as against exports of US$ 168.377 million of corresponding period of last financial year.

According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports of electric fans recorded 4.97 percent growth as about 892 thousand units of electric fans worth 20.134 million exported.

The data reveled that exports of electric fans were recorded at 932 units valuing US$ 19.180 million in first eight months of last financial year.

However, transport equipments exports decreased by 18.68 percent and reached at US$ 9.45 million during the period under review as compared to US$ 11.62 million of same period last year.

Other electric machinery exports grew by 33.77 percent and machinery specialized for particular industries by 6.99 percent as the country earned US$ 52.11 million by exporting other electric products and US$ 23.041 million by exporting the machinery specialized for particular industry.

Meanwhile, the data reveled that the exports of auto parts and accessories decreased by 7.18 percent and reached at US$ 14 million which was recorded at US$ 15.13 million during in eight months of last year.

Other machinery exports registered growth of 42.43 percent from the period July-February, 2013-14 as the country earned US$88.22 million by exporting other machinery which were recorded at US$ 61 million during the corresponding period of last year.
