imageMITHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the relief aid and wheat should be distributed transparently and without any discrimination in the district to ensure its provision to all victims of drought.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the relief activities in Tharparkar with the Elected Representatives and District Administration here on Thursday .

Besides, the wheat distribution should be ensured in all affected areas of the district and the whole process should strictly be monitored to avoid any discrepancy, he also directed Elected Representatives and District Administration.

Briefing the meeting Deputy Commissioner said that so for 92182 sacks of wheat had been distributed among drought-hit victims while PDMA and other donors had also provided 23836 sacks of ration to the district government.

Of of those 21986 bags of ration were distributed among victims while the remaining 1850 sacks would be soon distributed in the areas, he added

Ikram said that 48 mobile teams were working to provide relief aid to victims and medical facilities has been provided to 34551 patients by health department and 32678 patients by PPHI.

There were 19 mobile vaternary teams working in the area to vaccinate six million livestock in the district and the vaccine were administered to 2.4 million cattle to-date, he briefed and added that 3200 sacks of fodder have also been distributed for livestock in the district.

He stated that 180 deaths has been reported in the district since Dec 2013, out of those 104 were children, 46 males and 30 were females, while 2044 deaths of livestock occured in the district.

Later, Chief Minister has visited the Civil Hospital Mithi where he enquired about the health of children and also about facilities being provided and directed the hospital administration to provide all medical facilities and foods to patients under treatment.

Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Jam Khan Shoro, Sindh Minister for Zakat, Dost Muhammad Rahmon, MNA Faqeer Sher Muhammad Bilalani, MPA Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani and officials of district were present on the occasion.
