KARACHI: Former Test captain Muhammad Yousuf while slamming the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed selection committee and said it was not credible keeping in view their meager experience in cricket.
"What is standing of selectors and how much international they have played," he said while speaking on a private television channel late Monday night after Misbah-ul-Haq's Pakistan team suffered a massive 117-run loss in the fifth and final One-Day International in Sharjah.
"Selection committee's poor selection was clearly evident from Pakistan team's recent performances against Zimbabwe and South Africa," he remarked.
He said how many Test matches Azhar Khan has played and selector Farrukh Zaman is not known in home town Peshawar have played while Saleem Jaffar may have played 14-15 Test matches.
"What is their experience of selection committee members altogether and their status," he questioned.They are all "Sifarshi", he added.
Selection Committee is without Chief Selector after Iqbal Qasim decided not to continue at the expiry of his contract.
"The selectors are there with certain references at their credit and not on merit.They are there to earn money and not to serve the game," he said.
Former ace batting star Muhammad Yousuf said everybody is aware of the credentials of the selection committee.
"If such is the state of affairs in selection committee what to talk about other things in PCB," he said.
When contacted to get the version of senior selector and former Test paceman Saleem Jaffar on Tuesday, his mobile phone was switched-off.
After 2-Test match series ended in 1-1 stalemate, Pakistan was beaten 4-1 in the 5-match ODI series with T20 matches to be played on Wednesday and Friday.
