LAHORE: Dreadful dengue virus has gone out of control in Punjab despite precautionary measures and steps of the provincial government and health authorities as 20 new cases were reported across the province during 24 hours.
According to Punjab Health Department spokesman, dengue virus was detected in 20 more patients who were moved to various hospitals across Punjab.
He said that of two 20 patients, eight were admitted in Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi, six in Mayo, two in Ganga Ram, two in Fauji Foundation Hospital of Lahore, one in Allied Hospital Faisalabad and Benazir Bhutto Hospital each.
With detection of 20 cases total number of dengue patients has reached to 176.
The affected people belong to Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Rahimyar Khan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad districts.
The people of Punjab seem to be terrified over the rapid outspread of dengue fever. They also expressed dissatisfaction over the steps taken to overcome the disease and lack of facilities in government run hospitals of the province.
