imageLAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday took notice of news published in a section of the press that a 16-year-old girl was raped by the son of a landowner and his accomplices.

District & Sessions Judge (D&SJ), Gujranwala, has been directed to probe the matter and submit a detailed report on steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

A woman of Noshera Virkan, was going to work in fields with her daughter when Khalil with his accomplices forcibly stopped and took them to his outhouse. The woman alleged the accused tied her with rope, gang-raped her daughter and fled when she became unconscious.

She alleged that she took her daughter to police but they neither lodged a complaint nor got her medically examined. However, the CPO Gujranwala suspended two officials and ordered registration of a case.

The LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the D&SJ to look into the matter and submit a report in a week.
