Seven-member Special larger bench of SC constituted to hear Judges' pension case on July 10
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary Tuesday constituted a seven-member special larger bench of the Supreme court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja to hear review petitions of some former High Courts judges in their pension case.
The bench will hear review petitions on July 9 (Wednesday) according to the case list issued here on Tuesday regarding formation of the special larger bench.
According to the list, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ejaz Ahmad Ch, Justice Athar Saeed and Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman are members of the bench.
It may be mentioned here that a five member bench of the Supreme Court has already stopped pension of former High courts Judges who did not serve or complete their five years tenure as permanent judges of the respective High court.
According to the case which was initiated by the Chief Justice of Pakistan on a note submitted by the Registrar of the Supreme Court last year and the case was decided a few months ago.
